TAKING GOOD MEASUREMENTS
Good measurements mean good fit. The following is
designed to help guide you through measuring your pet accurately. Using a
seamstress tape (a soft measuring tape), please record the following details.
Don't rush, there is no deadline:
FOR COLLARS,
MARTINGALES, COURSING LEADS, QUICK RELEASE COLLARS, AND NECK COZIES - please
take two measurements:
- A) At the top of the neck, directly behind the
ears; and
- B) At the midpoint of the neck, half the distance
from the ears to the shoulders.
FOR WINTER COATS AND COOLERS -
please take four measurements:
- C) the length of the back, beginning at the
shoulders where the shoulders join the neck and ending at the hindquarters
where the tail begins; and
- D) the width of the chest, measuring across the
front of the dog from the outermost point of the right collar bone to the
outermost point of the left collar bone; and
- E) the depth of the chest, measuring from the
point the right shoulder blade to the right elbow of the dog; and
- F) the waist size, measuring the distance around
the body at its smallest point, usually two fingers' width behind the last
rib.
FOR RACING AND COURSING BLANKETS
- please take two measurements
- D) the width of the chest, measuring across the
front of the dog from the outermost point of the right collar bone to the
outermost point of the left collar bone; and
- F) the waist size, measuring the distance around
the body at its smallest point, usually two fingers' width behind the last
rib.
